Ella Langley Says She Wants To Sing With Stevie Nicks

Back when Stevie Nicks had first joined Fleetwood Mac in 1975, it was more than just her sound that made waves — it was her style, too!

Flowy clothing, layering sheer fabrics over formfitting styles, Stevie’s look during that time was eclectic, defining the Bohemian aesthetic for a new generation. Then there was her hair, with prominent curtain bangs.

One doesn’t have to look long at country star Ella Langley to feel the influence of Stevie, and it’s no secret for the rising “you look like you love me” singer.

Whether it’s the cover art for Ella’s 2024 album still hungover, or any of her appearances on tour or out and about, you know that her bangs are pronounced, but her interest in Stevie is not just about appearances.

Ella Speaks On Stevie

“I grew up on so many different types of music, but probably the most out of anyone ever would be Stevie Nicks,” Ella said when asked about who she most desired to collaborate with on her recent Taste of Country Nights appearance.

If the opportunity to work with Nicks presented itself, she stated, “Yeah, I would lose my mind … I don’t care who wrote [our song], as long as I got to sing with Stevie Nicks.”

Ella’s next album is not expected until 2026, so, in the meantime, Ella has been covering some Stevie tunes while on tour.

Here’s a video from October 2024 of Ella singing “Dreams,” by Fleetwood Mac:

Stevie Nicks’ Country Connections

It wouldn’t be a stretch for the “Edge of Seventeen” singer to team up with Ella.

In 2001, Stevie released the album Trouble in Shangri-La, which was produced by Sheryl Crow and has a country sound — albeit, one that is still uniquely Stevie’s — throughout.

Songs like “Sorcerer” and “Too Far From Texas” find Stevie embracing this country sound, with Sheryl even appearing in the “Sorcerer” music video.

The next year, Stevie provided vocals on Sheryl’s 2002 album C’mon, C’mon, appearing on the title track, which alludes to Stevie’s famous duet with Don Henley, “Leather and Lace.”

In 2010, at the Grammys, Stevie Nicks performed “Rhiannon” with Taylor Swift.

In 2014, Stevie performed with Lady A, then Lady Antebellum, at the ACM Awards, singing Lady A’s “Golden” and Stevie’s “Rhiannon.”
