Elvis Presley’s ‘The Classic Christmas Album’ Rose To The Top For Holiday Season

Next year will mark 50 Christmases without Elvis Presley, who died in 1977, but his mark on music and the public’s affinity for him remains strong.

Already this year, fans of the “King of Rock and Roll” can anticipate Baz Luhrmann’s new IMAX film, EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert, which was made entirely from 59 hours of never-before-seen footage of Elvis during his Las Vegas residency in 1969.

The Feb. 18 release of this special film experience follows a Christmas season that saw Elvis rack up a new accolade: another album going No. 1.

This time, it was the 2012 release of Elvis’ The Classic Christmas Album, which includes posthumous duets with Carrie Underwood and Martina McBride.

Elvis’ Christ Album Goes No. 1

On the Billboard Top Rock and Alternative Albums chart in the week following Christmas 2025, Elvis’ The Classic Christmas Album moved its way to the top.

Moving from No. 6 to No. 1, the album replaced Pink Floyd’s 1975 album Wish You Were Here at the top of the chart.

This comes 10 years after the 2015 album Elvis Presley Forever debuted at No. 1 on the same chart.

Similarly, The Classic Christmas Album also jumped from No. 5 to No. 1 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart. It also made its way to No. 6 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.

Overall, on the Billboard 200, the album peaked at No. 22.
