After a false statement began circulating online about her, the country superstar is finally speaking out to address the matter.
A recently announced project that has been highly-anticipated for more than two decades was recently announced. The new album of duets was set to feature the rap stylings of the late Notorious B.I.G. and his wife, Faith Evans.
The Notorious B.I.G. was killed 20 years ago in a still-unsolved murder and fans of his and Evans have been anxiously awaiting music from the widow. Now, she’s revealed that the album will be released soon and fans were ecstatic.
Soon, media companies all over the world began picking up the story and reporting on it. It started circulating on social media and became a trending topic on Twitter in a matter of moments – and that’s about the time CNN made their error.
During an early morning session of posting their news articles to social media, major news outlet, CNN’s social media worker apparently got confused with the music artists and instead of announcing the duets album for Faith Evans and The Notorious B.I.G., stated that Faith Hill and The Notorious B.I.G. would be issuing a duet record!!
The tweet reads as follows and is still posted online, “Faith Hill is releasing an album of duets with The Notorious B.I.G, 20 years after his murder.”

Not only did the social media announcement have the wrong name listed, it also featured a photo of Evans who is clearly not Faith Hill.
As fans of Hills and other country stars got wind of the massive typo, it started gaining traction and became one of the most talked about subjects on twitter. Stars, radio hosts, celebrities, news outlets – seemingly everyone was talking about it.
While some of the feedback was obviously ranting about the error, there were quite a few hilarious jokes made, and other witty replies to the media flub. With the news making its round on Twitter, a site that Faith Hill is quite active on, she obviously caught wind of the misstep and decided to speak out.
In her own charming and wonderful way, Hill posted a statement in reply to the CNN tweet expressing her feelings on their typo.
This sounds awesome! 😀 https://t.co/jzmyUHKaxU

Just a few hours after the error was made, CNN issued a follow up correction, replacing Faith Hill’s name with the correct one, Faith Evans.
We are glad this all got sorted out and that our country starlet has a great sense of humor about it!
Even though there was some misinformation presented about Faith Hill today, she’s no stranger to collaboration with different musicians. In fact, check out her killer performance of “Breather” with Carlos Santana below.
