Dierks Bentley And Zach Top Don Outrageous Alter-Egos While On Tour

Veteran country star Dierks Bentley and newcomer Zach Top know how to keep a crowd entertained. The two talented singer/songwriters have teamed up for the Broken Branches Tour, which is making stops in dozens of U.S. cities this summer.

Zach is the second opener of the show, following The Band Loula. He gets the crowd singing along to his hit songs including “I Never Lie” and “Sounds Like The Radio.”

Dierks Bentley’s headlining set is full of fan-favorite songs from his two-decades-long career, but it is who closes the show that is keeping fans in their seats until the lights come on.

About five years ago, the “Drunk on a Plane” singer debuted the Hot Country Knights – a comical parody band, featuring the 90s country-inspired alter egos of each of his band members. They include lead singer Douglas ‘Doug’ Dougalson, lead bass player Trevor Travis, lead guitarist Marty Ray (“Rayro”) Roburn, keytar/fiddle player Terotej (“Terry”) Dvoraczekynski, steel guitarist Barry Van Ricky, and percussionist Monte Montgomery.

In addition to releasing a few original songs, the group regularly shares skits and funny moments from their time on the road on their YouTube channel. The Hot Country Knights have been a highlight of the Broken Branches Tour, closing out the shows with covers of 90s country hits.

Zach Top Introduces Billy Bottoms

Last month, Zach Top got in on the action and introduced an alter-ego of his own. Billy Bottoms entered the stage in distressed denim, complete with tall white socks, a cigarette, and oversized ’90s sunglasses.

He joined the members of the Hot Country Knights for a cover of “Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident)” by John Michael Montgomery. Watch it below!

The Hot Country Knights Tackle The Viral “Bugatti” Trend

True to their fun-loving nature, Doug Dougalson, Billy Bottoms, and the rest of the Hot Country Knights could not resist putting their own spin on an internet trend that has been dominating feeds in recent weeks.

Known as the “Bugatti” trend, internet users have been creating videos set to Ace Hood’s “Bugatti,” where they are swiftly pulled out of frame, as if they are rapidly accelerating in the namesake sports car. See an example below!

Rather than use the original song which inspired the trend, the Hot Country Knights set their video to a remixed version of Alan Jackson’s 2002 hit, “Drive (For Daddy Gene).” Decked out in their stage garb, the band members fully committed to the bit, and the resulting video is internet gold.
