Friday (April 21) marked Tucker Carlson’s last day at Fox News. It was announced on Monday (April 24) that the longtime host and the conservative news network have parted ways.
Fox News released the following statement, which was also read live on-air by Harris Faulkner:
“Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.”
Carlson’s show, Tucker Carlson Tonight – which began airing in 2016 – will be reformatted to Fox News Tonight with a rotating cast of hosts until a permanent show and host is found for the nightly 8pm slot.
Tucker Carlson Tonight was routinely one of Fox’s best performing shows and before he had his own show, he was a contributor on Fox & Friends since 2012. Prior to his career on Fox, Carlson appeared on MSNBC and CNN.
As you could imagine, reactions to Fox and Carlson’s “shocking” announcement were split.
According to Real Mac Report, the final segment of Tucker Carlson Tonight was spent with the pizza delivery man who stopped a car jacker earlier in the week. He even ended the segment by saying, “We’ll be back on Monday.”
