Luke Bryan’s Wife Reveals Heartbreak Of Past Miscarriage

ABC News / YouTube

You may know her as Luke Bryan’s fun-loving wife, but behind all the hysterical Instagram posts, pranks, and laughs, Caroline Bryan has been through so much in one lifetime, you won’t even begin to imagine the pain she has felt.

Luke and Caroline were married on December 8, 2006 and Luke’s very first single, “All My Friends Say,” was released a little over a month later. He was invited to play his new hit single at the Grand Ole Opry that year, and his sister Kelly arranged for 129 of their closest family and friends from Georgia to attend his Opry debut.

Just a few days after the performance, Kelly passed away, leaving behind her husband Ben “Lee” Cheshire and their three young children. In 2014, Lee passed away from what we now know was a heart attack that he actually suffered in front of his 13-year-old son Til and Caroline.

Caroline revealed this information during an hour-long conversation with Get Real podcast host Caroline Hobby.

After Ben’s passing, Caroline and Luke took in Til, and his two college-aged sisters into their home.

But, there was a tragedy the couple went through without the world knowing. She revealed to Hobby that she and Luke lost a baby early into their marriage.

“I got pregnant when we had been married for six months. I was not expecting that at all,” she said. “And then we had a miscarriage.”

Caroline continued, “Luke didn’t really know how to comfort me because, you know, he didn’t get it. As girls, when you go through it and you lose it, there is a loss and it sucks and it hurts. It’s awful physically. Guys, I don’t think they know because they haven’t felt it or seen it. For girls, it’s a true loss and for guys, I don’t know if it’s a true loss.”

Thankfully, a son named Bo was born less than a year later, and “was a surprise,” she says. The married couple of twelve years also has a son named Tate.

With Bo, Tate, and Til at home full-time, plus two college-aged girls home for the holidays and summer, Caroline really has her hands full. Not to mention her country star husband, and dealing with everything they’ve been through, including their niece Brett Boyer passing away at just seven months old. They have since started a charity in her honor.

“Trust me, there are times when I just lose my s—,” Caroline admitted. “Sometimes I just go sit in the shower and cry. I struggle with Luke being gone all the time and how to make everybody happy and how to make this charity [the Brett Boyer Foundation] go well. It’s hard to be alone a lot. Our family thing is, you can take two paths in life: one of being bitter and angry, or one of I’m gonna find the happiness in this and make the best of something that’s horrible.”

We love Caroline’s outlook on life, even after going through so much tragedy both privately and publicly.
