Rising Country Singer John Foster To Perform At The Opry Once Again

American Idol runner up John Foster is set to perform on the Grand Ole Opry stage for the third time in his growing music career.

Along with The Gatlin Brothers and Deborah Allen, Foster will perform on the iconic stage on Thursday, August 21.

Foster is quickly becoming a standout in the country music world after a remarkable run on Season 23 ofย Idol.

Since his time on the show, heโ€™s made several special appearances, including a performanceย at the Cajun Country Jamย in his home state of Louisiana, where he shared the stage with country star Craig Morgan.

John Foster Spends His 19th Birthday At The Opry

Last month, Foster celebrated his 19th birthday in the Opry circle.

The Opry posted a sweet video message to their social media, wishing a happy birthday to the young country star who visited the circle for the second time in just a few short months.

โ€œWhat a way to spend your 2nd time in the circle ๐ŸŽˆ,โ€ the Opry shared. โ€œHappy Birthday, @officialjohnfoster!โ€

Foster tipped his hat to the crowd as they sang him a warm rendition of โ€œHappy Birthday To You.โ€

Foster Makes His Opry Debut One Month After Idol

Foster first made his Grand Ole Opry debut in June, just one month after coming in second place on American Idol.

Foster performed on the iconic stage, joining a number of talented artists including Bill Anderson and Mandy Barnett. The singer shared his excitement on social media, recalling that performing at the Opry is a lifelong โ€œdream come true.โ€

โ€œI fought back tears because I was so overwhelmed with joy,โ€ Foster posted on Facebook, recalling his initial Grand Ole Opry trip. โ€œAs an amateur country music historian, there is no more significant place to my passion (country music) than the Grand Ole Opry. This has been my #1 dream ever since I started music, and now, because of your support, my dream will come true!โ€

The singer wowed the crowd with the 1999 hit โ€œMurder on Music Row,โ€ a duet by Alan Jackson and George Straight and a beautiful rendition of โ€œHow Great Thou Art.โ€
