Merle Haggard would be one proud papa. His youngest son, Ben Haggard, who continues to keep his legacy alive with incredible covers of his father’s songs, has a huge reason to celebrate. His girlfriend of almost seven years, Jeyda Beyzade, announced on Wednesday (Nov.22) that she is pregnant with their first child!
In a series of photos posted to her Facebook, Jeyda expressed the couple’s excitement, writing, “We are SO OVERJOYED to announce that we are expecting a BABY Haggard in June!! I’ve wanted kids since I could remember and it’s FINALLY a dream come true! After nearly 7 years together I couldn’t imagine a better father to be then [sic] the love of my life Ben Haggard! Due date is June 28, 2018!”
In one of the photos, the couple holds blue and pink balloons that spell “BABY,” hinting that they do not yet know the sex of their child. In other photos, they posed with the ultrasound, a chalkboard that read, “And then there were 3,” and a pair of baby booties.

Ben served as the lead guitarist for Merle’s band, The Strangers, for eight years and toured with him until he passed away. After his death, Ben and his brothers Noel and Marty continued touring with The Strangers and played the rest of the dates Merle had scheduled. He continues to make country music and is currently signed to a publishing deal with BMI.
