Category 4 Hurricane Helene made landfall on Florida’s Gulf Coast last week, traveling through six states and destroying homes and businesses, resulting in over a hundred fatalities.

The destruction caused by the tropical storm has left thousands of citizens begging for help as they struggle without shelter, food, clean water, and other necessities. According to a recent report from NBC News, at least 175 people have been confirmed killed as a result of the storm.

North Carolina was hit especially hard, with heavy rainfall washing away entire cities’ worth of homes, roads, and businesses. The highest recorded rainfall reached 31.33 inches.

Many people are coming together to support the victims who have lost everything. Country star Luke Combs, a North Carolina native, shared his plans to do whatever he can to help those affected. Fellow country artist Morgan Wallen also stepped in to assist, making a generous donation of $500,000 to aid relief efforts.

The NASCAR community has come together to support the victims of Hurricane Helene.

NASCAR team owners Joe Gibbs and Rick Hendrick are among those who have donated their time and money to help. Specifically, the two racing moguls have lent their private helicopters to transport supplies to North Carolina, where road damage has made transportation by car nearly impossible.

Gibbs and Hendrick aren’t the only organizations in the NASCAR world contributing to the relief efforts. 23XI Racing, co-owned by Michael Jordan, has donated $1 million, while the Joey Logano Foundation has pledged $250,000. Additionally, Bristol Motor Speedway has opened its campgrounds for evacuees seeking refuge.

Other NASCAR organizations, including Talladega Superspeedway, Kaulig Racing, and more are also accepting donations to help those affected.
