Beyoncé Fans Are Claiming Lainey Wilson’s Performance Was “Déjà Vu”
“Baby, I swear it’s deja vu.”
“So, once again… they copied Beyoncé.”
“I feel like I’ve seen this before.”
These are just a few of the comments on a clip that Netflix shared of country artist Lainey Wilson performing as part of Snoop’s Holiday Halftime Party on Christmas Day.
During the Christmas halftime show the year before, in 2024, Beyoncé was the headliner, performing in support of her album Cowboy Carter.
On the surface, both artists wore white cowboy hats and outfits, but is there more to the comparisons being made?

Take A Closer Look At Lainey Wilson’s Performance
Right off the bat, it has to be noted that Lainey Wilson’s segment of the 2025 Christmas halftime show is just over one minute long.
Rather than singing one of her own songs, Lainey sings “Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town.”
Adding to the festive spirit of her inclusion in Snoop’s Holiday Halftime Party, she arrives in the center of Minnesota’s U.S. Bank Stadium in a white sleigh seated upon the lap of her fiancé, Devlin “Duck” Hodges, who was dressed as Santa Claus.
Matching the white sleigh, Lainey wore a white outfit that had white fur on both the cuffs of her sleeves and along the flare of her signature bell bottoms. This outfit also had red accents and silver filigree, contributing to the festive tone of her performance.
While it has the Christmas details, her outfit is not too dissimilar from what she wore while doing her opening routine at the CMA Awards in November.

Compare Lainey’s Performance To Beyoncé’s From 2024
Back in 2024, Beyoncé performed the Christmas Day halftime show, but she didn’t sing any Christmas tunes.
Dubbed the BEYONCÉ BOWL, she had the whole show to highlight a range of her own music, and she was notably joined by Post Malone at one point, singing their duet “LEVII’S JEANS.”
That performance was followed up by Beyoncé getting in the back of a white convertible and singing her rendition of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene.”
This moment in the white convertible has been compared to Lainey’s entrance in the white sleigh by some Beyoncé fans.
As for the clothes, while Beyoncé’s outfit was also white, with silver filigree, her ensemble was more in keeping with her pop aesthetic, as she wore a white leotard with chaps adorned with fringe.
