About The Show

This Nashville-based singing competition series has one big rule: country music only. Each episode, up-and-coming solo artists, duos, and groups perform some of the genre’s greatest songs. Each performer will showcase famous traditions, songs, and themes from country’s past and present. The weekly competitions will result in one final winner that will be named one of country music’s “next breakout acts.”

The panel is full of incredible country music artists who have worked hard to get their spot in the limelight. Grammy award-winning superstar Shania Twain makes up one-third of the panel alongside platinum-selling singer-songwriter Jake Owen and country music legend Travis Tritt. Each panelist brings something different and unique to the table for their contestants. While Tritt focuses on a classic country sound, Owen shares a passion for a more contemporary country sound. Twain’s reputation for breaking barriers is enough said for her position.

One Rockin’ Rendition

Each panelist gets to choose their pick of singers. One of Owen’s picks was the duo, Adairs Run. The duo is a collaboration of Todd Hanchock and Pat Pollifrone. The two started Adairs Run in 2009, playing at local festivals and dive bars. Throughout the years, they have begun to kick their foot through the country music doors. The duo has since opened for and played with Brett Michaels, Jason Aldean, and Florida Georgia Line.

On last night’s episode of Real Country, the pair performed David Lee Murphy’s “Dust On The Bottle.” The duo lit up the stage with their vocals and guitars amped up for their first performance on the show. Both members of the duo had twangy vocals that harmonized together perfectly for the classic tune. Their stage presence made it feel like they had been doing this for years, as the crowd was going crazy. The duo even threw in a back-to-back guitar solo to finish off their rockin’ rendition.
