The Duck Dynasty family conveyed their faith through the Unashamed Podcast, hosted by Phil Robertson along with his sons Al and Jase, and his nephew Zach. Throughout the podcast’s duration, many family members participated as guests, though Phil and his sons primarily guided the conversations.

They invited guests and explored various topics, primarily sharing their Christian faith.

The opening line is in Phil’s voice, and he said,I am unashamed. What about you?”

Following Phil’s untimely death, the podcast released a touching 42-minute special in his honor.

This episode highlighted Phil discussing his faith. He shared his conversion story, noting its prophetic nature; his sister convinced a preacher to share the gospel with him, claiming he would impact thousands if he converted. In his own words, he declared,

“She told him, if you convert my brother, he’ll convert thousands. And the preacher said, say what? She said, if you convert him, let’s go up there to the beer joint. You convert him, thousands will be converted. My little sister is telling the preacher that.” He continued on to say, “That’s what happened. I was converted. And by me being converted, would in fact, as my sister had predicted, reach thousands.”

His sister was right as Phil’s influence reaches far beyond thousands.

Furthermore, he offered four essential pieces of advice for leading a good life. He shared,

“As you go forward, number one, live a quiet life. Number two, mind your own business. Number three, work hard so that your daily life will win the respect of the outsider. And number four, don’t be dependent on anybody. That’s the four things.”

Phil Robertson Speaks About His Death Years Before His Passing

A fundamental belief in Christianity is the existence of Heaven, or life after death. Phil Robertson frequently addressed his death on the podcast.

He shared that he does not think of death as the end, but rather as a new beginning, which he found reassuring. He noted,

“So I’m looking at it like, well, you said before, you don’t have many years to live. I’m like, Oh, I’m just fixing to begin to live on the other side, on the other side. So it’s a comforting thing.”

He also shared how he wants people to respond to his death, saying,

“When I die, don’t cry. Dance, sing, but don’t cry when I die.”
