Happy’s Place Is Set To Make Its Big Return

Happy’s Place fans can get excited once again – Season 2 is officially in production, and Reba McEntire confirmed it in a new video posted to social media!

The show, which first premiered last fall (October 18), has been a huge success among viewers.

The plot follows Rebaโ€™s character, Bobbie, who inherits her fatherโ€™s bar after his passing. However, while reviewing his will, she discovers she has a half-sister named Isabella (played by Belissa Escobedo). Together, they must learn to run the business while navigating any challenge that may come their way.

With its pilot reaching over 10 million viewers across all platforms, Happyโ€™s Place became the most watched new comedy series to ever launch on NBCโ€™s streaming service, Peacock.

So, it’s no wonder it is being renewed for a new season, with Reba first sharing the exciting news back in March!

Happy’s Place Season 2 Is Officially In Production

The show’s next season is officially in production, and NBC posted a short video behind-the-scenes.

“Happy’s Place Season 2, we’re in production… now,” Reba said in the video.

The video pans through many of the cast members, eagerly sharing their excitement to be back with what they call their “family” for production.

“We’re just so glad to get back to work with each other, cause it’s not work, it’s play,” Reba continued.

Season 1 Was Full Of Familiar Faces, And There Is Potential For More

One of the most special parts of Happy’s Place was just how many familiar faces McEntire brought back on the show.

Melissa Peterman, who played Barbara Jean on Reba, was cast as a main character named Gabby, a bartender and Bobbieโ€™s best friend. Christopher Rich, who played Rebaโ€™s ex-husband Brock on her early sitcom, returned to acting after a long break to take on the role of Maverick on the show, a tattoo artist.

The show’s creator, Kevin Abbot, recently discussed the possibility of writing in roles for more of McEntireโ€™s former castmates.

โ€œWe really want to have JoAnna [Garcรญa Swisher] on there,โ€ Abott said during an interview with PopCulture.com.

JoAnna Garcรญa Swisher played McEntireโ€™s daughter, Cheyenne, on Reba.

“I just want to make certain that we get something that makes that character โ€ฆ fun for JoAnna to be playing it,โ€ he added. โ€œYou know, we wanted to make certain for both Chris and Steve that they had something great to play. I guarantee sheโ€™ll be on this next season if sheโ€™s available.โ€
