Promoting The Deluxe Edition Of His Album ‘Don’t Mind If I Do’ Found Riley Calling For Ducks On ‘The Tonight Show’

Country artist Riley Green may have been on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote the newly-released deluxe edition of his hit 2024 album Don’t Mind If I Do, but it wouldn’t be a visit with Jimmy Fallon without a little fun.

More than just a humorous interviewer, Jimmy has proven himself on Saturday Night Live and Late Night as a comedian who can sing and play instruments. His Bob Dylan impression, for example, finds him sometimes playing guitar and harmonica at the same time.

However, a duck call is an entirely different beast, and Riley is known for his duck calls.

At each of Riley’s shows, the artist takes out his duck call and gives the audience a few quacks. He even sells duck calls on his website.

His handle on social media, Rileyduckman, even incorporates his duck hunting passion.

Riley Teaches Jimmy How To Use A Duck Call

“Last time you were here, I don’t know if you remember this, but you gave me a duck call,” said Jimmy Fallon to Riley Green on Thursday, September 4.

To laughter, Riley replied dryly, “Of course I do โ€ฆ I wrote it in my diary that night, so I remember.”

Reaching for the duck call, Jimmy referred to it is as a “duck whistle,” compelling Riley to provide some insight on the hunting tool.

“A duck whistle?” asked Riley. “A duck whistle would be like what they instruct ducks to do at the Peabody Motel in Memphis when they cross the street, that’s a duck whistle โ€ฆ It’s a duck call.”

Holding the brown pearl and black Elite Duck Call that Riley had gifted him, Jimmy took the correction, affirming it’s a “duck call” before Riley noted that it’s not just a duck call but is “a nice one,” adding, “I can see you’ve used it a lot.”

Suggesting the duck call’s shape is similar to a hand pipe, used for smoking marijuana, Jimmy joked, “Well, I didn’t know if it was legal, first of all.”

Admitting the duck call “does have that look,” Riley responded, “You don’t smoke out of it.”

From there, Riley asked Jimmy to demonstrate his duck call skills, with Jimmy proceeding to blow on the wrong end of the reeded hunting tool.
