Football season just started, but everyone can’t stop talking about the biggest game of the year – Super Bowl LIV.
Set to take place on February 2, 2020 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, the Super Bowl will feature the two best NFL teams battling for the coveted Lombardi trophy.
Another reason people tune in is for the halftime show. Previous performers have included Maroon 5, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Shania Twain, and many more.
This year, it was rumored that Jennifer Lopez was in talks to perform, and in a social media announcement made on Thursday (Sept. 25), those rumors proved to be true!
Lopez posted a photo of a mystery woman with the Pepsi logo (Pepsi sponsors the halftime show) and a ring that reads “2020.”

Luckily we didn’t have to wait long for the big reveal. Minutes later, Lopez posted another photo, this time with herself in it, of her and singer and former Voice coach Shakira announcing they would be the Super Bowl Pepsi Halftime Show performers

Shakira also posted a photo of Lopez to promote the collaboration, hiding her face.

Todd Kaplan, Pepsi’s vice president of marketing, said in a statement, “These two remarkable artists are setting a new precedent for what this show can become, and we’re confident that this will be an incredible performance for the ages.”
