The second Blake Shelton heard Michael Lee and Joey Green sing, he knew they both had to be on his team. Lee amazed all the coaches with his soulful approach to B.B. King’s 1961 classic “The Thrill Is Gone,” getting Adam Levine, Jennifer Hudson, and Shelton to turn around for him during his Blind Audition during this 15th season of The Voice.

Shelton scored another talented artist a few episodes later when Green’s Blind Audition to the tune of The Who’s “Baba O’Riley” aired, besting out Jennifer Hudson.

As both singers advanced to the next round of competition on Team Blake, they were paired up against each other for the Battle Rounds, meaning they would have to sing a duet and their coach would pick one winner to go Onto the next step – The Knockout Rounds.

Because of both of the singers’ bluesy rock voices, Shelton picked the song “Thing Called Love” by the legendary Bonnie Raitt – and it was the perfect song for them. Each singer got their chance to shine vocally and from the reactions of all the coaches throughout the performance, everyone was loving what they were hearing.
The other three coaches praised both men, who happen to have known each other for many years from the Texas touring circuit, but they weren’t the ones who had to make the nearly impossible decision!
In the end, only one singer could advance from this battle on Team Blake. Watch their epic battle in the video below and see who he chose to move on.
