CBS’ The Road Debuts On Sunday Night
Country music’s newest reality competition, The Road, made a high-energy debut on Sunday, October 19. The highly anticipated series stars Blake Shelton and Keith Urban as they hit the road in search of the next big country music sensation.
Unlike traditional singing shows, The Road puts aspiring artists to the ultimate test, performing live in real venues while facing the challenges of life on tour. With its authentic approach to discovering talent, the show promises to shake up the genre and display the “gritty and unforgiving life of a touring musician.”
At each show, the live audience votes to determine the bottom three performers. From there, Shelton and Urban make the final decision on which artist will be sent home.
At the end of the season, the winner will receive $250,000 and a recording contract.
One of the incredibly talented contestants on the show, Cassidy Daniels, had fans swooning over her performance of “Crazy Love.”
Cassidy shared that the opportunity of being on The Road is “unlike” anything else an aspiring country music artist can experience.
Her website describes her as a “Carolina-born, Kentucky-raised Florida woman Cassidy Daniels is one of Nashville’s most promising young triple threats: guitarist, songwriter and extraordinary vocalist.”
