Tim McGraw Performed Live For The First Time In A Year

It might be surprising, but Nashville has never held a rodeo until last weekend, when thousands gathered from all over the world to celebrate the inaugural Music City Rodeo.

The rodeo was held from May 29th to May 31st, with a headline performance each night. On Thursday, it was Reba McEntire, the queen herself. On Friday night, it was Jelly Roll, followed by an electrifying performance from Tim McGraw on Saturday.

McGraw’s Saturday night performance was his first live performance in just under a year due to back-to-back major surgeries. During a podcast interview on the Bobby Bones Show McGraw revealed he has spent most of his time recovering. After touring, the singer’s knees “went out,” and he had to get a double knee replacement.

He said he was “In the process of recovering from my knee surgeries, my back went out again and I had to have another back surgery.” This means that in the last “six, eight months,” the singer has had three back surgeries and a double knee replacement. Watch his interview below.

Tim McGraw’s Rodeo Performance

The iconic singer returned triumphantly after his year of recovery by headlining the Nashville rodeo.

“Thank you! My name’s Tim, better known as Faith Hill’s husband, which I like a lot,” he shared as a welcoming to the sold out Nashville crowd, “Welcome to the inaugural Music City Rodeo! Had you had a good time? Give it up for Miss Reba [McEntire], Mr. Jelly Roll and my boys. I want to thank my team for putting this together, Pat, Brian, Down Home, everybody that did such a great job. And thanks to you guys for showing up and supporting this. We’re going to be here every single year, so I want y’all to keep coming out. It’s been a blast doing this and a big hand for the cowboys and cowgirls. It wouldn’t be a show without those guys.”

He gave a lively performance with some of his biggest hits. McGraw sang “Southern Voice,” “I Like It, I Love It,” “Real Good Man,” “How Bad Do You Want It,” and “Something Like That.” He also shared a never-before-heard single that he will put on his forthcoming album. Tim and Faith have three daughters: Gracie, Maggie, and Audrey. All three girls are talented singers, so it’s no surprise that McGraw decided to bring them on stage after finally returning to performing following a challenging year.

The girls sang “Last Dollar (Fly Away)” with their father.

After they sang together, his daughters were brought to tears, and then McGraw embraced his three daughters before they left the stage. Watch the beautiful moment below.
