In the middle of a commercial break, this longtime hitmaker and close friend to Elvis gave the studio audience an unexpected rendition of a Jerry Lee Lewis classic!
This off-the-cuff performance came as the audience and all four coaches on The Voice UK were waiting for the next contestant and had a bit of downtime. Fellow coach, Olly Murs, exclaimed that he needed a little pick me up and that’s when an audience member urged Tom Jones to sing a song!
Feeling the pressure from the audience and their excitement to hear him sing, he stood up in his coach’s chair and belted out a surprise performance of “Whole Lotta Shakin'” that reminds us all of Lewis’ rise to fame with his 1957 release of the hit.
Lively and spirited, 77-year-old Jones belted out this song at the drop of a hat and had everyone in the studio clapping and dancing along.
