NFL Stars Travis & Jason Kelce revealed that they are Toby Keith fans in a recent podcast episode.

Brothers and professional football players, Travis and Jason Kelce, are known for their talent on the field, but many fans know them as “football’s funniest family duo.” Jason Kelce (36) just wrapped up an impressive season with the Philadelphia Eagles and Travis Kelce (34) is heading to the Super Bowl this week with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The pair hosts the New Heights Podcast which shares “next-level access to life in the [National Football] league as it unfolds.”

The Kelce brothers sang an impromptu duet of “Should’ve Been A Cowboy.”

In a podcast episode from July 2023, Travis asked his older brother for a “cow update.” Jason, who fans believe will retire from the NFL in the next few years, has recently dabbled in the cattle industry after purchasing 11 cows in Missouri.

Jason shared an update on his herd and said that it is all “just part of being a cowboy.”

That inspired Travis to start singing Toby Keith’s 1993 hit song, “Should’ve Been A Cowboy.” After a few words, Jason joined in and the two continue in a hilarious duet of the country tune.

Travis and Jason’s singalong got Toby Keith’s attention.

Travis Kelce posted the “Should’ve Been A Cowboy” clip to his TikTok account and said to his followers:

“Love you #chiefskingdom but I’ve made the difficult decision to take this next year off and head on tour with Jason 🤠”

Followed quickly by:

“JUST KIDDING!! Wouldn’t trade my job for anything! 🤘🏻”

The clip has gathered over 3 million views on TikTok alone. Unbeknownst to the Kelce brothers, the clip would get the attention of the country music icon just one week before his passing. Toby Keith shared the playful video to his Instagram story on January 29th.

Toby Keith passed away on February 5th after a years-long battle with stomach cancer.

Toby’s family shared the news of the legendary singer’s passing early in the morning of February 6th with a statement that read:

“Toby Keith passed peacefully last night on February 5th, surrounded by his family. He fought his fight with grace and courage. Please respect the privacy of the family at this time.”

The 62-year-old singer-songwriter was diagnosed in the fall of 2021 and battled the disease privately for about six months before going public with his diagnosis.

Toby Keith made an immesureable impact with his music and will never be forgotten. Watch the clip of Jason and Travis Kelce singing “Should’ve Been A Cowboy” below.
