Voice contestant Brooke Simpson will bring you to your knees with her heavenly yet chilling take on “Amazing Grace.”
Simpson began her performance a cappella, the powerful vocalist perfectly executing each of the difficult notes required of the iconic Christian hymn. The singer brought the crowd to their feet in a roar of applause, Simpson proving why she’s a Top 10 finalist.
Fans of The Voice first met Simpson back in the blind auditions when she earned the first four-chair turn of the season with a spine-tingling rendition of Demi Lovato’s “Stone Cold.” After a fierce plea from each of the judges, the talented young vocalist went on to join Team Miley.
The 26-year-old currently resides in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and is a Native American from Haliwa-Saponi tribe, growing up on the tribal grounds where she sang in the church as a practicing evangelist.
“Amazing Grace” is an 18th century hymn written by English poet and Anglican clergyman John Newton.
