Country Artist Zach Bryan Releases New Single, “Streets Of London,” With 2 Other Songs

After telling fans he’d be releasing two new songs on Monday, June 30, Zach Bryan’s new songs never surfaced. Then, Tuesday, also came and went…

However, the wait was worth it, as Zach released three new songs on Wednesday, July 2, instead.

Leading up to this release, fans commented on his social media posts, anticipating the new songs they had been promised, with one fan writing, “Did this man forget the days of the week?”

By Wednesday, fans were glad to see three songs waiting for them.

With his new single “Streets Of London” being the focus, listeners will enjoy the story in the song and its brass-laden sound.

Three New Songs

Recorded in London at a studio David Bowie recorded at, the “Streets Of London” session finds Zach singing of being “back in Oklahoma, kickin’ around at a hometown bar.”

Noting that he’s “dined with kings and queens in the city,” he sings of still wanting more, saying his cup “stays half-empty.”

Continuing, Zach sings:

“And I walk the alleys tryna find myself a kick drum, or a man cover a slow John Prine song, but in spite of myself, I just can’t stop thinkin’ that paradise awaits for me back home.”

Namedropping folk singer-songwriter John Prine, Zach continues in that verse by alluding to one of Prine’s own songs, titled “In Spite Of Ourselves.”

Ahead of the release of this song, Zach played it live for audiences at Hyde Park in London on June 29.

The other two songs, titled “River Washed Hair” and “Song For You,” are melancholic, even dirge-like. Supported by a harmonica, these songs play back to back, complimenting one another.

On “Song For You,” the brass joins in, with a somber piano.
