It’s a crazy and sad thing to realize that we are living in a time where people actually name their children Hashtag. Yes, baby name trends come and go, but this has to be the absolute worst trend of them all.

What we really need is for some classic names to be popular again. Heck, let’s start the trend ourselves! In fact, let’s make it more specific than just “classic”. How about classic country? So many incredible artists sang classic country music and their names are as great as their music!

We’ve compiled a list of the 7 best baby names inspired by classic country music.

7. Nash

Nashville is the heart of country music and the home of the famous Grand Ole Opry. Why not name your baby after the wonderful city where all your favorite country singers became famous?

6. Porter

Porter Wagoner is a country legend who wasn’t afraid to stand out. He also introduced the world to Dolly Parton, so he gets extra points for that. He is known as Mr. Grand Ole Opry and was elected into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2002.

Porter is currently #419 on the list of most popular baby names in 2016, which means there aren’t too many of them! Your baby will be unique.

5. Jolene

Country fans can’t say this name hasn’t crossed their minds! Dolly Parton famously wrote and recorded her hit song “Jolene” about a woman who was flirting with her husband. She decided on the name Jolene when she met a little girl with the same name one day and it fit perfectly with the song.

Just make sure your Jolene doesn’t take Dolly’s man!

4. Dolly

Speaking of Dolly! She is a one-of-a-kind woman with a one-of-a-kind name. Not too many people can pull off the name Dolly, but take it from actress Rebecca Romijn, Parton is flattered when you name a baby after her!

3. George

Now this is a classic name that needs to be brought back!  Sure, the name is gaining popularity because of Prince George, but you’d know that you are naming your son after either The Possum, or The King of Country. Both George Jones and George Strait have had legendary careers, along with so much music to introduce you little tyke to!

2. June

June Carter made a name for herself starting at a very young age with her family band, The Carter Family. Her name is as beautiful as she was, and it is a perfect name for a beautiful little girl.

1.Cash

While Johnny is a great name, Cash is so much more country! Plus, if you have a boy and a girl, June and Cash go very well together.

Are there any other baby names that are inspired by classic country artists that should make this list?
