‘American Idol’ Announces Virtual Audition Dates & Cities

On Thursday, August 1, it was confirmed that a country music superstar will join the judging panel for Season 23 of American Idol.

Following Katy Perry’s departure from American Idol after seven seasons, it has been officially announced that Idol alum Carrie Underwood will be joining the judging panel for Season 23.

Carrie Underwood’s journey to worldwide fame began when she won Season 4 of American Idol in 2005. Since then, she has become one of the show’s most successful contestants, selling millions of albums worldwide and earning eight Grammy Awards.

The announcement that Carrie Underwood will take on a judging role has made history, as she will be the first former contestant to do so.

Following this news, American Idol confirmed that Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Ryan Seacrest will return to their previous roles for the show’s upcoming season, which will be set to air in mid-2025.

In addition to the exciting updates about the judging panel for the upcoming season, American Idol producers have also revealed the audition dates and cities.

Revealed in a social media post, auditions for American Idol will begin on Monday, August 12, with the return of “Idol Across America,” a virtual opportunity for people nationwide to audition for the show. Aspiring contestants will have the chance to prove their talents to a producer from the show from anywhere in the country on any official audition date for a chance to receive a spot on the televised judge auditions. Additionally, open call dates will also be available, and auditions will be open to participants from around the world.
