On the first season of the ABC reboot of American Idol, a young talent caught everyone’s eye. That person was Texas-native Cade Foehner, who brought high energy to the competition with his rock-inspired vocals.

He made it all the way to the Top 5, and has been performing all over the country for his fans since then – sometimes with his fiancé Gabby Barrett, who was also a contestant that season.

Foehner always rocks his signature long brunette locks with a clean shaven, boyish face, but in his latest Instagram post, he looks unrecognizable!
The rocker can be seen sporting a full beard, which no one was expecting!
“Comment below if you notice something new….” Foehner slyly captioned the photo.
Idol runner-up Caleb Lee Hutchinson said, “OH WOW! LOVE the new shirt,” jokingly oblivious at the huge change.
Lots of fans chimed in saying how much they loved the new look, while others wondered if it was real or if he used FaceApp. He hasn’t said if it is real or not, but seeing as he was clean shaven just four days prior, we can only think it was edited. Either way, he looks great!
