After a six-year long battle with Alzheimer’s disease, Glen Campbell passed away at age 81 early yesterday morning (August 8). Ashley Campbell, the youngest of the country legend’s eight children, took to Facebook to thank fans for the outpouring of love and support that has been sent her way during one of the most difficult times of her life.
“Thank you for all the kind words. Today has been very tough for all of us. It won’t be easy living in a world without him. I miss him terribly and am so touched by the immense outpouring of love from everyone,” Ashley wrote on her official Facebook page.

Ashley is not only the daughter of a country legend, but also a talented artist in her own right. The 30-year-old singer was a member of her father’s band during his 2011 Goodbye Tour organized following his diagnosis with the disease.
In addition, Ashley released a song about her father’s heartbreaking battle with Alzheimer’s titled “Remembering,” the song going on to win a Grammy as well as an Oscar nomination.
Please continue sending prayers and love the Campbell family’s way during this difficult time.
