Ashley McBryde has been forced to cancel her upcoming shows as she takes time to recover from vocal strain.

The “Light On in the Kitchen” singer shared the update on her Instagram Story on Monday, August 11. She told fans she had been struggling with her voice for weeks, and her doctor advised that the only way to recover is by going on vocal rest.

“My voice has been struggling over the past few weeks, and as much as it pains me, I won’t be able to play my shows this week,” she wrote. “My doctors have made it crystal clear: my voice needs complete rest to heal.”

McBryde also added that she wishes she didn’t have to take this break, but assured fans she will be back soon.

“There’s nothing I want more than to be back giving you 100%. Thank you for understanding. I’ll see you soon.”

The news of McBryde canceling her shows for the week comes not long after she posted a video telling fans she had already been on vocal rest in hopes of healing her vocal cords.

In the clip, McBryde holds up handwritten cards explaining she can’t speak, while someone in the background acts as her “voice” and reads them outloud.

In the caption, she wrote, “Trybe, doc says I’m working on busted-up vocal cords. The last thing I wanna do is cancel any meet and greets or Heaven forbid SHOWS. So let’s try this for this week!”

Ashley McBryde Is Getting Ready To Open Her New Nashville Bar

Although she had to cancel a few shows to deal with health issues right now, Ashley McBryde and her fans still have something to look forward to soon.

At the beginning of this month, it was announced that McBryde will be opening her own bar in Downtown Nashville, located inside Eric Church’s Broadway venue, Chiefs.

However, McBryde’s new spot, called Redemption Bar, will be unlike anything else in the area.

It will be a primarily alcohol-free bar, offering a fun space for those who want to enjoy the atmosphere while staying sober.

Although the menu will still include alcoholic drinks, McBryde, who is 3 years sober, wants to create a place where everyone can feel welcome and comfortable.

Doors to Ashley McBryde’s new Nashville bar will open on August 28.
