On Sunday (April 25), a new special premiered on Discovery+ titled Crikey! It’s A Baby. The special chronicled Bindi Irwin, the only daughter of the late Steve Irwin, as she gave birth to her first child, Grace Warrior Irwin Powell.

In it, Bindi opened up about Grace never being able to meet her dad, who passed away when she was just eight years old.
“It’s hard knowing that she’ll never get to actually meet (my dad), and it’s devastating because I’ll never get to watch that connection,” she said with tears welling up in her eyes. “But I cannot wait to be able to tell beautiful Grace all of these stories about Dad, to be able to share with her what an amazing father he was.”
The clip also included several photos and videos of Steve with Bindi and her brother, Robert, as young children.
The 22-year-old wiped away tears as she said, “It is really hard, it’s hard that he’s not here because out of everyone in the world he would’ve loved her the most. He would’ve loved her so much, but I think, in a way, he is still with us. His heart and soul lives on in all of us, so he’s never really gone.”
Our hearts always break when Bindi talks about her late father, but we know he would be so proud of the woman she has become and is looking down with a smile on his face.
