Chris Stapleton Drops Latest Track “Bad As I Used To Be”
Chris Stapleton just dropped his brand new track, “Bad As I Used to Be,” marking his first solo release since his 2023 album Higher.
Stapleton’s new song is the latest release from the official F1 soundtrack, tied to the upcoming racing film F1 (Formula 1) starring Brad Pitt.
The film is said to revolve around a Formula One driver who comes out of retirement to mentor and team up with a younger driver, according to its IMDb page.
The full F1 soundtrack won’t be officially released until the movie premieres on June 27, but fans got an early treat with Stapleton’s new song.
Credited as the sole songwriter, Chris Stapleton’s “Bad As I Used to Be” stands out as the only country song on the movie’s soundtrack, which also features artists like Ed Sheeran, Tate McRae, ROSÉ, and more.
Along with the early release, an official visualizer for the song dropped, and fans flooded the comments, praising Stapleton’s gritty vocals and the raw energy he brings to it.
“His music is unlike anything else out there; something quite uncommon in the modern music industry,” one person wrote.
“It’s like the Stones with a southern twang,” another pointed out.
“Another genius move from Chris Stapleton, he can do no wrong. The talent this man has is beyond the universe,” wrote a fan.
With the release of Stapleton’s new song, people are beginning to wonder if he’s gearing up to drop even more music soon. While nothing has been officially confirmed, we can always hope for the best!
Chris Stapleton Takes Home Male Artist Of The Year
Even without a recent full-length album, Stapleton continues to rack up recognition. Earlier this month, the “Tennessee Whiskey” singer took home Male Artist of the Year at the 2025 ACM Awards.
He was also nominated in six categories total, including the night’s top honor, Entertainer of the Year.
