Riley Green Is Considering Pursuing Acting

After his steamy music video for “Worst Way” set the internet ablaze, Riley Green is considering more time on the screen.

Crossing over into the world of acting has proven to be a fruitful career move for many country music artists. Lainey Wilson famously got her start portraying Abby in Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone, and Jelly Roll recently made his acting debut on CBS’s Fire Country.

Green also channeled his inner wild west cowboy for the music video for his viral hit with Ella Langley, “You Look Like You Love Me.”

After the success of these music videos, the country heartthrob may have his sights set on the television screen. When asked if fans can expect more acting in the future, he revealed that he has read scripts for a “couple of shows.” He told 95.5 WTVY:

“We’ve actually kinda gone down that road a little bit. I’ve read for a couple of shows here lately. Not that I have a lot of time for it, but I think it is something that I would enjoy, and also something I think could help my music career.”

The 36-year-old acknowledged the ties between the Taylor Sheridan universe and country music. He added:

“Doing ‘Yellowstone’ was a great launching pad for Lainey… and the country and western thing is becoming so popular through those shows that it’s really just such a great tie-in. I’m just glad that it’s helping out country music.”

How Reality TV Helped Kickstart Riley Green’s Career

If the Alabama native were to pursue an acting role, this would not be his first time on national television. In 2014, he appeared on season four of CMT’s Redneck Island. The show followed 24 “rednecks” as they lived on an uninhabited island and competed in challenges. He was the champion of his season and walked away with a $100,000 prize!

Riley Green saw the opportunity that the reality TV show provided to increase exposure for his music. He recalled:

“I did it because I thought it could help my music, and I believe it will. If 40,000 people watch it and they mention my music, I believe it’s worth it.”
