At the beginning of this month, country singer RaeLynn travelled to Hawaii to fulfill a young girl’s wish through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The little girl’s name is Keira and it was her dream to meet and perform with the “Queens Don’t” singer.

Throughout her trip to Hawaii, RaeLynn shared some very cute photos and videos including some from her and Keira’s big night.

Well, while she and her mom were there, the Kilauea Volcano erupted on Hawaii’s Big Island on May 3. The video below was taken three weeks after that, so you can only imagine what it was like that day.

RaeLynn recently stopped by the Ty, Kelly, & Chuck morning radio show to talk about her time in Hawaii, and being there the same time that the volcano erupted.

“My friend texted me, she goes, ‘A volcano just erupted on your island!’ And we were literally, my mother and I had a bajillion shopping bags in our hands,” she said in a slight panic.

She said she asked her mom if she felt a volcano erupt, and neither of them did, thankfully!

Turns out, the event she went to was at the Four Seasons Resort on the island of O’ahu, and the volcano was on a completely different island. She also tagged herself at a luau on O’ahu one day after the volcano erupted. We’re so happy she and her mom weren’t in harms way!
