Potential Dancing With The Stars Spin-Off Coming Soon

Dancing With The Stars may soon be expanding its empire!

After taking home the Mirrorball Trophy on season 34 of the hit show, Robert Irwin is reportedly in negotiations with ABC to headline a new spin-off, tentatively titled Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro, according to multiple outlets.

The new series, which is expected to stream this summer on ABC and Hulu, will follow aspiring “pros” as they compete in an audition-based format. The winner would secure a professional dancer spot on Dancing With The Stars upcoming 35th season.

Throughout its run, the series has showcased numerous pro dancers, several of whom reunited for last season’s 20th anniversary.

Current pro Mark Ballas is also said to be in talks to serve as a judge, alongside his mother, Shirley Ballas, head judge of the U.K.’s “Strictly Come Dancing.” The final judging position would reportedly rotate among guest panelists.

The potential of a new spin-off is just one of the many exciting things in the works for the hit series! Earlier this week (February 10), the show made headlines when it announced its first-ever Dancing With The Stars Con, a three-day fan convention that will be held this summer at the Acrisure Arena in Palm Springs, California from July 31-August 2.

The convention will reportedly feature many favorite pros and celebrities throughout the years, a live game show, performances, interactive photo opportunities, live panels, exhibits, and much more.

Robert’s Life-Changing Dancing With The Stars Experience

Robert has been candid about how profoundly the experience has transformed his life.

Partnered with professional dancer Witney Carson, Robert quickly became a fan favorite on season 34, impressing the judges week after week—an especially remarkable achievement given that he joined Dancing with the Stars with no previous dance experience.

After topping the leaderboard on premiere night, Robert remained a steady presence near the top of the rankings, earning accolades for both his growing skill and his undeniable charisma on the dance floor.

The wildlife conservationist has shared that the journey carried special significance, as his win came exactly 10 years after his older sister, Bindi, claimed her own Mirrorball Trophy.

“To follow in those footsteps and to do the same has meant everything to me,” Robert reportedly told PEOPLE backstage. “This has absolutely changed my life.”
