Former boat captain Blake Painter of Discovery Channel’s hit documentary series Deadliest Catch is dead at 38, as reported by TMZ.
Law enforcement shared with the celebrity news website that Painter’s body was found Friday (May 25) in his Oregon home. A friend of the deceased had reportedly become concerned after not hearing from Painter for several days. Police further determined that Painter had been dead for several days.
Additionally, TMZ reported that foul play has not been suspected and that an autopsy and toxicology report will be conducted to determine cause of death.
Painter was the captain of F/V Maverick on Deadliest Catch from 2006 to 2007 for Season 2 and Season 3, after which he reportedly quit. Painter was regarded as an expert fisherman by many.
