Ella Langley Shares Her Mental Health Struggles

Country music star Ella Langley has been very open about her mental health battles. She previously shared that those same struggles run in her family.

“I won’t lie, this last week has been probably one of the toughest mental health weeks I’ve had in a long time. Which is crazy, because so many good things are happening. So many things I’ve prayed for and dreamed about,” Ella said back in June 2025 on the The Scotty Kay Show. “It’s just the disease of my family, really.”

During the interview, she shared that, even though things might look good on the outside, you never know what is happening in someone’s life. She decided to share her experiences because someone else might be going through similar struggles.

“I think it’s important to talk about it and to share that just because I might seem like I’m on the top of the mountain right now, it doesn’t look like that all the time.”

That same week, Ella had an incredible night at the ACM Awards with 8 nominations and 5 award wins. Soon after, she stepped away from touring for a time, focusing on healing herself and spending time with her family.

Ella Shares The Incredible “God Moment” That Changed Everything

During a recent conversation at the Country Radio Seminar (CRS), Ella Langley spoke with Jo Dee Messina during the keynote sessions, sharing a deeply personal account of what was really happening behind the scenes at that time.

Ella says she heard the news about her ACM nominations while she was in Canada, which took her by surprise. Especially since she hadn’t even been invited to the show the previous year. She admits she felt a bit of imposter syndrome, worrying that she hadn’t been in country music long enough to receive that much recognition.

Just days before the awards and on her 26th birthday, her team suggested a celebratory day at the beach, but the weather was miserable. Even as everyone around her celebrated her achievements, Ella felt a deep sadness.

The following day, as they were preparing to leave, she experienced the most intense panic attack of her life. When Ella’s drummer asked to pray for her, she declined, saying her faith wasn’t something that felt stable enough.

“I’ve always had a relationship with my faith and the Lord, but it’s been kind of a rocky road,” Ella said.

Shortly after that panic attack, the country star got into an Uber that completely shifted her perspective. Along the way, she noticed a white car surrounded by black vehicles, which she saw as a powerful metaphor for her life.

“I thought, ‘You know, that’s kinda like what the devil is trying to do to me right now it feels like.’ And I hadn’t really thought this way before. All these thoughts come to my mind, and it feels like I’m getting attacked from all different angles. And there’s this one amazing thing happening, but for some reason, my brain is not letting it happen.

And I said, ‘It would be kinda crazy if another white car came.’ Here comes another white car. I said, ‘It would be crazy if another white car came,’ here comes another one. No way, here comes another one, and this flood of the same color white car. I was like, ‘What? That’s a coincidence.’”

Ella said she then spotted a white car with a “He’s greater” sign, and realized she was having a profound “God moment.” She explains that what happens next shook her to her core.

“She looks at me in the rear view mirror, has no idea the moment I’m having, in the back seat. Looks at me in the eyes and says, ‘God’s got you.’ What? She said, ‘God’s got you, I went through something early in my life, I lost my baby son and I thought that was gonna kill me but God had me the whole entire time and I just felt called to tell you that right now,” Ella continued.

The country star said in that moment she recognized God has never left her, but “accepted that presence that has been there the whole time.”
