Taylor Sheridan’s latest series, Landman, has been in full swing since its debut in November. The show centers on Tommy Norris, played by Billy Bob Thorton, as he navigates life as a crisis management executive for an oil company.

Drayton Farley’s song “Blue Collar” sets the tone for the episode, playing during the opening scene. Originally released in 2021, the track captures the struggles of working-class life and the toll of a job that barely covers the bills. The narrator expresses feeling trapped in a cycle of exhaustion and sadness.

Rising country singer Belle Frantz’s cover of “Do Ya” brought a mix of modern and classic vibes to the scene when it played. The song, first released in 1987 by K.T. Oslin, hit No. 1 on the US Hot Country Charts and has stayed a favorite ever since.

“Livin’ It Up Down In Texas” by Billy F Gibbons

ZZ Top’s lead vocalist, Billy F. Gibbons, had his song “Livin’ It Up Down In Texas” featured in Episode 9. The 75-year-old rocker shared his excitement on social media about being included in the drama series.
This isn’t the first time fans have heard Gibbons’ music in Landman, however. In Episode 8, ZZ Top’s hit song “La Grange” was also featured.
“Neon & Off” by Laci Kaye Booth
Laci Kaye Booth’s recently released song “Neon & Off” gave viewers a chance to discover a new track they may not have heard before. The song, which explores the mixed feelings of a complicated relationship and the excitement of being caught up in the moment, likely found its way onto many personal playlists after the episode.

“Ain’t Done Losing Yet” by Charley Crockett
Charley Crockett’s “Ain’t Done Losing Yet” played in the background during breakfast at the Company House in Episode 9. The country artist released this track as part of his $10 Cowboy album, which recently received a Grammy nomination for Best Americana Album this year.
