Back in January, it was announced that Yellowstone would take part in an event called PaleyFest in Los Angeles, California. It would be held on April 1 at the Dolby Theater. The Paley Center’s official Instagram account dubbed it a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hear from the biggest stars.”

This years event, which is known for bringing fans and the stars of their favorite TV shows together for a Q&A panel, features seven different shows – Yellowstone, Yellowjackets, Abbott Elementary, Grey’s Anatomy, The Mandelorian, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and The Late Late Show with James Corden.

Yahoo! Life reported that according to the PaleyFest website, show co-creator Taylor Sheridan, executive producer David Glasser, and actors Kevin Costner, Kelly Reilly, Luke Grimes, Kelsey Absille, Wes Bentley, Gil Birmingham, and Jacki Weaver were all supposed to attend.
With no announcement, none of those people showed up to the event and Josh Lucas (young John Dutton), Mo Brings Blenty (Mo), Dawn Olivieri (Sarah Atwood), and Wendy Moniz (Lynelle Perry) came in their place.

The last-minute change angered Yellowstone fans who paid upwards of $100 per ticket for the event to see the main cast, as advertised. Read a few of their reactions on social media below.
“This was false advertisement and we deserve a refund. You could have been upfront with us prior to showing up.”
“It’s absolutely ridiculous that you are promoting this event. Thankful that the four cast members that did show up did their best, but this was a massive bait and switch. I understand that it was outside of your control but it was also outside of the control of the people who paid money for an event that didn’t happen. Paley should issue all ticket holders a refund!”
“None of the 10 cast members you advertised and promised for months showed up and you are calling it a “special night?” You gave no notice to anyone who traveled for hours and saved money to attend this event. You just hoped that no one would notice the main characters didn’t show up. It was very obvious that you knew ahead of time the main cast was not going to be there. An apology is owed to all who attended.”
PaleyFest LA was promoting the Yellowstone event as recent as the morning of the event. That post is now riddled with comments of fans who are extremely unhappy with them. Scroll through all the comments on the post below to see them all.

This last-minute drop-out of all the main cast members not only angered fans, but it is all but confirming their worst nightmare: that there will be no Part 2 to Season 5.
Last month, rumors swirled that Part 2 hadn’t yet begun filming – though they were slated to begin in March – because of negotiations with Kevin Costner. The rumor is that he wanted to film the second part of the season for one week, making news outlets all over assume that Yellowstone will be cancelled.
For months, Paramount has said that Yellowstone will return in the summer…but they haven’t even begun filming.
