Fans Want To See Carrie Underwood Take The Stage For Next Year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show

Super Bowl LIX may have just happened a couple of weeks ago, but people are already sharing their thoughts on who they’d like to see as next year’s halftime performer. And it looks like Carrie Underwood is at the top of many people’s lists.

It’s no surprise that fans are eager to see a country star represent the genre. It’s been over 20 years since a country singer performed at the Super Bowl halftime show. Shania Twain was the last in 2003.

Why People Are Rooting For Carrie Underwood

If a country star were chosen as next year’s performer, Carrie Underwood would make perfect sense. Especially considering her longtime partnership with the NFL. For over a decade, Underwood has been kicking off Sunday Night Football with her cover of “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night.” At this point, she’s become a staple of the football season.

Of course, the “Before He Cheats” singer is busy with her various other projects, including her new role as a judge on American Idol. However, her schedule likely wouldn’t be affected if she were chosen as the halftime performer for Super Bowl 2026.

Since new Idol seasons typically don’t air before the Super Bowl, it seems like it wouldn’t interfere with any of the other things she has going on, making her a perfect candidate.

Fans of Underwood are so passionate about seeing her perform at the Super Bowl that they’ve started online petitions to make it happen. A trending hashtag on social media is also gaining traction from supporters trying to put Underwood’s name out there.

Unfortunately, it won’t be until later in the year that the halftime performer is confirmed. So we will just have to wait and see if Carrie Underwood is chosen!
