The small fish apparently washed up on shore while Raff was taking a walk along the beach and he stumbled upon it. He picked it up and looked at it. Realizing how unique the fish’s mouth was, he decided to take a picture of it and posted it on Twitter.
Raff’s wrote on his post (translated to english), “Her lips are hotter than mine.”
The big-lipped, pearly-white-toothed creature was later identified as a triggerfish and it’s widely common in Malaysia. There are about 40 species who live there in tropical and subtropical waters. What’s most memorable about these fish are their brightly colored and patterned bodies.
They are sought after in the aquarium trade market because they’re such beautiful and attractive fish. The largest ones are found in the Eastern Pacific from Mexico to Chile and they can grow up to 3.3ft long.
According to Lad Bible, National Geographic said the males are territorial and get aggressive when intruders come into their space. They’ve been known to aggressively charge at crabs and sea urchins and fight them with their teeth. You can see a little bit of this behavior in the video below.
