A die-hard Cleveland Browns fan was hospitalized with head injuries and other broken bones after a terrifying and awful situation unfolded right on live television.

A Cleveland 19 News reporter happened to be broadcasting in the parking lot as thousands of fans milled about and showed off their team spirit. One man, Andy Shepherd, was standing on top of a van taking pictures of the pre-game festivities – in clear shot of the camera.

Seconds go by, and in a flash, his body goes completely limp and he crumples – falling headfirst into the concrete about six feet below.

According to his family, Shepherd suffers from epilepsy and had a seizure in that very moment. He had been seizure-free for some time and had been on medication that seemed to help quite a bit.

The footage was posted to Twitter and has been seen more than 2.5 million times in under 24 hours.

Shepherd was taken via ambulance to a local hospital and is being treated for a fractured skull, broken shoulder, broken ribs, a blood clot – and will need surgery.

Shepherd’s son has started a GoFundMe campaign to help with the medical costs of his recovery.

We are praying for him as he works to recover from this terrible accident.
