Former “Idol” Contestant Arrested For Domestic Violence

The garbage man who went viral last year after his audition for American Idol is now behind bars.

Doug Kiker, from Mobile, Alabama auditioned for American Idol in 2020 and his soulful rendition of Rascal Flatts’ “God Bless The Broken Road.”

While he didn’t make it far in the competition, he was a contestant that people remembered.

On Thursday, May 13, Kiker was arrested for third-degree domestic violence, which ABC 3340 News says is harassment – and a misdemeanor.

TMZ reports that the Mobile Police Department was called by a woman who reported a domestic violence incident with Kiker. Once officers responded, there was probable cause to arrest him.

He remains in jail on a $1,000 bond at Mobile County Metro Jail.
