Former President Donald Trump Rushed Off Stage As Shots Ring Out At Rally

Apparent gunshots rang out just minutes into former President Donald Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, Saturday (July 13).

Donald Trump was speaking on stage Saturday when popping sounds were heard. The former President grabbed his right ear before taking cover behind the podium. Secret Service agents rushed the stage to protect the former President.

Agents surrounded Trump before escorting him to a nearby vehicle and exiting the scene. When the politician stood to his feet, he raised his hand over his head and yelled “fight, fight, fight.” Blood was visible on the former President’s ear and the side of his face.

Secret Service posted a brief update to X.com stating that Donald Trump is “currently safe and is expected to survive.” They did not comment on the extent of his injuries.

“An incident occurred the evening of July 13 at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania. The Secret Service has implemented protective measures and the former President is safe. This is now an active Secret Service investigation and further information will be released when available,” the full statement read.

Steven Cheung, a spokesperson for Trump, issued a statement on behalf of the former President, saying, that he “thanks law enforcement and first responders for their quick action during this heinous act.”

Cheung added, “He is fine and is being checked out at a local medical facility. More details will follow.”
