Up-and-coming country singer Kata Hay, known for her time as a contestant on The Voice, is facing serious charges.
The singer, whose real name is Kata Huddleston, was arrested on Wednesday, December 17, after the Goodlettsville Police Department in Tennessee shared a Facebook post asking for the public’s help in finding her.
According to the post, Huddleston had an outstanding warrant for vehicular homicide tied to a car crash that happened on Long Hollow Pike near I-65.
“We have reason to believe that she may be enroute to Oklahoma and traveling with a white male and quite possibly towing a large camper,” officials said at the time.
The following day, she was located and taken into custody in her home state of Oklahoma. An update reports that she will be extradited to Davidson County, Tennessee.
TMZ reports that the 38-year-old is currently being held at Osage County Jail in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. She is scheduled to appear before a district court judge today, Monday, December 22, to sign a waiver of extradition.
Huddleston is also facing additional charges, the outlet revealed. She has an open DUI case from December 10.
On top of that, she is being charged with leaving the scene of an accident that caused over $1,500 in property damage, as well as driving with an open container of alcohol.
This isn’t the first time Huddleston has been behind bars. Back in 2022, she spent six months in jail after pleading guilty to having sexual contact with a minor.
Huddleston first gained recognition as a contestant on season 10 of The Voice, where she joined Christina Aguilera’s team.
During her Blind Audition, she earned a three-chair turn with her performance of Gretchen Wilson’s “Redneck Woman.” She advanced all the way to the top 20 before being eliminated in the first week of the playoffs.
