Rob And Michele Reiner Were Killed In Their Home, Their Son Nick Has Been Charged With Their Murders
Rob and Michele Reiner’s children, Jake and Romy, have shared a new statement following their parents’ tragic deaths.
Actor and director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer and producer Michele Singer Reiner, were found deceased in their home on December 14.
The New York Times reported that their daughter, Romy, discovered Rob’s body. Romy left the house in shock, and her roommate, who was with her on the property, called 911.
First responders discovered Michele’s body and informed Romy about her death.

Rob and Michele’s manner of death was determined to be homicide, while the cause was listed as “multiple sharp force injuries.”
Authorities arrested Rob and Michele’s 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner. Nick was formally charged with his parents’ murders on December 16 and made his first court appearance on December 17.
According to NBC News, Nick was charged with “two counts of murder with special circumstance allegations that he used a knife…If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of life without the possibility of parole or the death penalty…“
Rob and Michele’s daughter, Romy, and their oldest son, Jake, previously shared a statement on December 18 following their parents’ deaths and their brother’s arrest. They released a statement to PEOPLE, which read in part:
“The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience. They weren’t just our parents; they were our best friends.“
Jake And Romy Reiner Speak About Plans For Their Parents’ Memorial Service In New Statement
Jake and Romy Reiner have since released a new statement through their spokesperson. PEOPLE shared that statement on December 22.
“Jake and Romy Reiner remain grateful for the outpouring of love and support they have received,” the statement read.
The siblings’ statement also mentioned future plans for a memorial service honoring their parents. They didn’t reveal any concrete details, but promised to share more down the line.
“They will share information about a memorial service honoring their parents at a later date,” the statement read.
Nick Reiner is expected to make his next court appearance on January 7 for his arraignment.
