In her book Dolly Parton, Songteller: My Life in Lyrics, Dolly Parton said “Jolene” is her most frequently covered song. She isn’t wrong! “Jolene” has been covered dozens of times since it was released in 1973.

Notable versions of “Jolene” have been performed by Olivia Newton-John, Pentatonix, and Dolly’s own goddaughter, Miley Cyrus.

The former Hannah Montana star has covered “Jolene” many times. Her most famous performance was one of her “Backyard Sessions,” which has over 300 million views on YouTube.

Another former Disney channel star who shares a connection to “Jolene” is Hilary Duff. Though the Lizzie McGuire and A Cinderella Story actress has never covered the song herself. At least not publicly!

Rather, it’s Hilary’s young daughter, Banks, who has covered Dolly’s iconic tune.

Taking to Instagram, Hilary shared a video of her almost-three-year-old daughter passionately singing “Jolene” while riding with her in the car. Banks proved she is a master at multi-tasking, as she sang while also munching on some Harvest Cheddar Sun Chips.

Hilary gushed about her daughter’s performance, saying in the video’s caption, “This makes me supremely proud @dollyparton love you forever.”

You can watch Banks adorably sing “Jolene” in the video below. Hilary is a singer as well as an actress, so maybe this is a sign Banks will one day follow in her musical footsteps!
