Rumors Swirl About Kelly Clarkson’s Talk Show Exit—Here’s What We Know
Since her talk show premiered on September 9, 2019, Kelly Clarkson has produced over 1,000 episodes. Thanks to her infectious personality and incredible musical talent, The Kelly Clarkson Show has become a big hit with her audience.
However, there is speculation that her time as one of America’s favorite talk show hosts might be coming to an end.
According to Page Six, Clarkson’s contract is set to expire next year, and she is considering a change. While this information is currently speculative, fans are concerned because Clarkson has been mysteriously absent from her show in the last month.
On March 3, actor Simu Liu filled in for her at the last minute. During his opening monologue, he revealed that he was not informed he would be hosting the show until about five minutes before it started.
He told the audience,
“Kelly isn’t able to make it today. We’re sending her our very best. I did not know that I was doing this until about five minutes ago when I arrived to promote my new movie, ‘Last Breath.’ I’m here now, and look, I’m not one to back down from a challenge.”

She returned to host the show the following day, March 4 but did not provide an explanation for her absence, leaving fans to assume it was a one-time event.
She was absent again on March 6 and returned on March 18, with actors like Jack Black, Kal Penn, Whitney Cummings, and others filling in for her during her absence. Each time, she did not provide the audience or fans with an explanation for why she was missing from the hosting chair. This worried her fans and left them to speculate. According to the show’s official Instagram page, fans have said,
“We love Kelly and respect her privacy, but y’all definitely need to put out some sort of statement because this is worrisome.”
“I respect Kelly Clarkson’s privacy, but I am very concerned about her.”
“Please let us know if Kelly is OK.”
What Do Sources Say About Her Potentially Leaving The Show?
Page Six also reported that an industry reporter shared that, “Kelly’s number one priority is her children, and they always will be. Her show is grueling. It’s a whole lot of work, and I hear that Kelly would like to spend more time down South.”
This is an anonymous source that we have not confirmed. Clarkson has not made a personal comment herself, and the network has not confirmed this.
If true, Clarkson would like to leave the show to spend time with her children, River Rose, 10, and Remy, 8.
