Songs The Voice Coaches Never Want To Sing Are…
You have to wonder…do country artists ever get tired of singing the same songs over and over again? In some cases, the answer is yes.
There are songs out there that, for whatever reason, their respective artists don’t like to sing. But these songs are usually big hits, and are therefore unavoidable. You have to give the fans what they want!
During an interview with People, the four coaches of Season 13 of The Voice shared the songs that they wish they never had to sing again. For Adam Levine, that song would be “Love Somebody,” because it’s too high for him to sing.
What About Blake?
For Miley Cyrus, that song is “Wrecking Ball,” because she’s no longer impressed with it from a lyrical standpoint. As for Jennifer Hudson? She doesn’t want to sing “And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going” ever again because it bores her now.
Blake Shelton‘s answer to the question may surprise all of you. Coming clean, Shelton revealed that he’d rather not sing “Hillbilly Bone” ever again!
“Hillbilly Bone” was released as a single in 2009 and featured Shelton’s good friend and mentor Trace Adkins. The two often crash each other’s concerts to surprise their fans with the song, which was a number one hit on the country chart and a crossover smash.
Shelton and Adkins always seem like they’re having a blast whenever they perform the song together. Even if Adkins can’t make it to his shows, “Hillbilly Bone” is still a staple of Shelton’s concert sets.
So why is it that he never wants to sing it again?
What’s The Reason Then?
In true Shelton style, his reason for wanting to avoid “Hillbilly Bone” is a humorous one. This is what he had to say:
“It’s uncomfortable sometimes with kids at the concert. You’re singing and you’re looking at a kid and you start talking about ‘Hillbilly Bone’ … it’s uncomfortable.”
We guess we can kind of understand what he’s getting at there! Can you?
Luckily for those who love “Hillbilly Bone,” Shelton isn’t going to stop performing it. So go ahead and enjoy one of our favorite covers by the fellas in Home Free below!
