Jelly Roll’s Inspiring Weight Loss Journey
Since setting out on his health and fitness journey in 2022, Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, has lost an impressive amount of weight. Earlier this year, the singer confirmed that he has lost 275 pounds by sticking to regular exercise and completely changing his diet.
On January 2nd, Jelly even hit a milestone goal of landing on the cover of Men’s Health.
The achievement was a longtime coming, after back in December 2024 the “Save Me” singer announced his goal during an episode of the Dumb Blonde podcast, hosted by his wife, Bunnie Xo.
Jelly showed off one of his proudest accomplishments while touring in Rome last year. The singer was in the country in September, spending time with the Pope and performing inside Vatican City.
On September 15, Jelly shared with his social media followers that he could now officially “fit in Louis Vuitton.” On that same trip, the singer also rode a scooter, something he said he never could previously do before at his larger size.

Jelly Shares More About His Weight Loss Following The Grammys
Jelly recently reached a milestone moment in his career when he attended the 68th annual Grammy Awards. Jelly not only earned his first-ever Grammy, but also ended up with three wins total and looked absolutely incredible.
During a press session following his big night, the “Wild Ones” singer was asked how he managed to achieve such significant weight loss. He credited much of his success to overcoming his “food addiction,” which he said he fought in the same way he fought his drug addiction.
Jelly has been open about his struggle with drugs in the past, even serving time for a previous crack cocaine charge.
“First of all, I did a lot of consistent cardio and food. And I had to fight my food addiction just the way I fought my cocaine addiction. I had to really take it serious. I had to change my relationship with food, and had to do a lot of mental therapy and a lot of mental work to block the food noise,” Jelly shared.
The superstar also admitted he has never done any weight loss drugs, including GLP1, but he wouldn’t “judge” anyone who does.
“Never did the GLP1, but I don’t judge nobody who does it. Anybody who is 500 pounds I don’t care if you take one shot or ten, do whatever it takes to get the weight off,” Jelly explained, “Don’t listen to nobody else. Get your life straight, save that heart.”
