Keith Urban Still Makes His Mama Proud
Despite his massive fame and fortune, country superstar Keith Urban still adores his mom!
During a recent interview with Australian radio show Fitzy & Wippa With Kate Ritchie, Urban shared that he still sends his sweet mom all of his award trophies, where she proudly puts them on display.
“Over the years, I’ve sent a lot to my mom up in Queensland, she’s got them on display there, it’s really nice,” he said.
The one exception, the singer says, is his most recent Academy of Country Music Triple Crown Award.
“It’s one of the rare ones that I actually put on the piano. I don’t have trophies out anywhere, but that one I put on the piano in the middle of the living room,” Urban said.
After six years, Urban finally received his Triple Crown Award from the ACM, an award given to a singer by winning their respective New Artist category, their respective Artist category, and Entertainer of the Year.

The “Somebody Like Me” Singer Honored During The 2025 ACM Awards
In a short but emotional acceptance speech at the 2025 ACM Awards, Urban thanked the artists who honored him and took a tender moment to express his deep love for his wife, Nicole Kidman.
On May 8, 2025, the ACM announced that Urban would finally receive his Triple Crown Award. He was the first artist to be presented with the honor onstage during the ACM Awards since Carrie Underwood in 2010.
Urban also took a moment to speak lovingly about his two daughters, Sunday and Faith, expressing just how much they mean to him. He then shifted focus to his dedicated team, acknowledging their “insanely hard” work behind the scenes.
Wrapping up his speech, Urban gave a heartfelt “special thanks” to his fans, crediting them as the true reason for his success. It was clear he knows this award belongs just as much to them as it does to him.
Urban’s Incredibly Successful Career
Throughout his long-lasting career, Urban has earned numerous accolades, including several CMA and ACM Awards, and has charted more than 20 number 1 hits on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.
Originally from New Zealand and raised in Australia, the country star first emerged onto the country scene in the 1990’s and broke through with his debut album “Keith Urban” in 1999.
Urban recently opened up about his sobriety journey, and how his life has drastically changed since giving up drugs and alcohol 19 years ago.
“I had to find a different way to be in the world,” he said in 2022. “I’m glad it didn’t change anything about my music. I wrote plenty of hit songs while drunk. I wrote plenty sober. I feel lucky it hasn’t defined my creativity.”
In September 2024, Urban released “Break The Chain” off his album High, an honest song about stopping the pattern of dysfunction that was passed down from his own father.
“I don’t know if my dad, who passed away a long time ago, would be okay with the song or not, but he would love that it’s truthful, and the intent of it is a forward motion of trying to do things different,” Urban said of the song.
The singer said it took discipline to change the trajectory for his family and get out of the cycle of abuse.
