Over the weekend, Keith Urban surprised fans with a pop-up show at a Buc-ee’s in Alabama.
On August 16, Keith Urban announced a surprise show at the Buc-ee’s location in Athens, Alabama, to promote his upcoming album High.
Not only did Urban perform for fans that night, but he also served them by hopping behind the counter to cook up some of Buc-ee’s signature barbecue. Decked out in Buc-ee’s attire, he wore an apron while stirring the beloved sauce and chopping up the BBQ.

Although Urban’s appearance was a spontaneous and last-minute announcement, thousands of fans came out to see him perform.
The turnout was so overwhelming that even Keith Urban was surprised. In a video of him speaking to the crowd from the stage, Urban admitted he didn’t expect such a large turnout.
“I came down to this Buc-ee’s about a month ago. And when I left, I went, ‘It’d be kind of fun to do a show there,’” Urban said. “I swear to you, I thought maybe 100, 200 people [would show up],” he added.
He went on the explain that’s why the stage was so small and the sound system wasn’t as powerful as it should be for such a large crowd.
“This is freaking me out,” Urban said about the turnout. “So thank you very much for coming out,” he added with a laugh.
