Being a full time mommy of two, a doting wife, and a pop star on the side, Kelly Clarkson definitely has her hands, and schedule, incredibly full! The singer sat down with PEOPLE to talk motherhood and raising her two kids, Remington “Remy”, 6 months, and River Rose, 2 years, in addition to being a step-mother to her husband’s two other children from a previous marriage. Clarkson dove into the interview admitting that she’s not the best at time management, explaining, “I definitely feel mom guilt a lot. I think every good mom does, right? I think I have mom guilt too because my mom didn’t have help and I have help. I feel like, ‘Why can’t I do it all?’ But you can’t. That’s dumb.”

While Clarkson agrees that there are only so many hours in a day, she explains that she is very adamant about making herself available to her children, saying she wants to be with her kids as often as possible so they know to need her and not stray to another for comfort. The singer also jokes that she’s sure, at some point down the road, things may not go as planned and her daughter may need therapy, although firmly hoping it will never be due to a lack of confidence.

I will definitely screw up a bunch, but I am gonna try not to. I think it’s really important, not only for my little girl [but our other children too], to see that a woman is capable of kicking ass while also being a kickass mom….There are days when I cry and I’m like, I don’t know if I can handle all this or get it all done or juggle. But at the end of the day, like 99 percent of the time, it’s awesome and it’s worth it.”

Clarkson just revealed to fans that she is in the process of compiling what will be here next album set to release in 2017. Showcasing a new “soulful” sound, the singer could not be more excited to have finally found her musical place and to properly share this magical transition with her adoring fans!
